The beeps aren't frequent enough to cover my profanities

One of the smoke detectors in our house is running out of batteries. I know because it has been producing an ear-piercing shriek every 10 minutes or so for the last three days.

And damned if we can figure out which one it is.

So we've resorted to dismantling all of them, one at a time, until the culprit is found. We're on detector No. 3 and the beeping hasn't stopped.

I'm seriously starting to lose my mind.

Don't forget to check the carbon monoxide detector, too! :-)

i was going to say the same things as plainsman.... you sure its not a carbon monoxide detector? Thats not something you want happening when you are pregnant. I know its the law (around here) that all house sales include a carbon monoxide detector in the house now. So I'm thinking you probably have one. Please check it ASAP, the woman that watches my girls during the day had hers go off and the fire dept came and both my kids had to go to the hosptial to be checked out. (scary stuff). Thankfully they were fine though

Just so you know.... It'll be the last one you check. That's the way life works for me anyway. Just thought I'd help out!

We always change our batteries on the daylight savings time weekend, when we "fall back" and the smoke detectors all begin doing the same thing right around now. It is enough to drive you bananas. Replace them all and you'll quiet and peace of mind.
AEmbrace and enjoy your day!

How could you not know which one it is? Don't you just follow the sound? O_o

Also, don't forget to check for smoke detectors in the basement and attic. We did the same song, second verse a few years ago and the culprit was located in the attic. We actually called the builder (I know your house is older and this isn't an option) and told them there was some kind of malfunction in the wiring. No, no malfunction....just some first time homeowners. Good luck!
