A few of the many

Looking horrid, but feeling wonderful after the epidural.

A few minutes old under the warmer.

Very excited grandparents.

A nurse giving Allison her first bath.

All bundled up in the nursery.

The next morning in the hospital before visitors arrived.

Discovering her sleeve.

Baby Shower and Newborn Photos 052
So warm and snuggly.

Jerry's sister, Amy, came to visit with all of Allison's big cousins.

My family drove from New York the next morning. It was a huge treat.
(My parents, me, my grandma, my cousin Vanessa, Glirr, cousin Dietrich.)

Great grandma with mohawk baby.

Super pissed off at our lack of skill with the car seat.

Toby is mostly curious. He just sort of sniffs Alli's face and tilts his head
at her squeaks. He also needs, needs, NEEDS more attention than usual.
When both are on me (as seen here with my mom), I feel like a jungle gym.

This bassinet has been in our family for at least five generations.

Timberly was in town for Thanksgiving.

And brought Alli a super soft bunny.

I absolutely love this photo of my mom changing her diaper. Hilarious.

Toby might not know what to make of our new addition,
but he absolutely loves the Boppy pillow.

So does Jerry.

Yeah, she's pretty awesome.

I think we'll keep her.

She is precious. And really does look exactly like Jerry. Amazing. And you look great - before during and after. I am totally impressed.

Your parents look awful familiar to me. I wonder if I've crossed paths with them a time or two.

Great pics, Kelly. She's an angel, pure and simple.

Kelly, she is beautiful.

I love the carseat picture- so classic. :-)

Gorgeous pictures! The one when the nurse is talking Allison a bath is absolutely beautiful! I love it. I also love the one with grandma and Allison with a mohawk. Too cute. And the one with Jerry's sister and the kids, awwwww! They were all great. Thanks for sharing.

Take, care.

P.S. Thanks for the pic of daddy and baby.

Oh and about that bassinet being in the family for 5 generations, "Wow!" What an honor that you still have it! That's wonderful. It holds more sentiment than just buying a new one. =)

What a beautiful baby! I can't wait to meet mine, I am 23 weeks with a boy.

She's so adorable and tiny. You look wonderful as well. Again, congratulations and keep up the great work :) Oh, Toby :)

I've yet to comment on the birth of Allison or any of the previous pictures you've shown because I wanted to find the perfect words -- something beyond simply "Congratulations" but nothing seemed to pop into my head. Then today I was scrolling through the pictures and it brought tears to my eyes. (I'm going to blame a lifelong problem with a surplus of hormones... :-) )

And the only thing I can think to say is that I'm so incredibly, ridiculously, over-the-moon happy for you and your family. I can't imagine a luckier kiddo than one who has you and Jerry for parents. I may not be much of a reference as I only read your blog from time to time (okay... every day... it's a habit, my habit at least, forget smoking and shoe shopping -- who needs those?) but from everything I've read I'd say it's a pretty accurate statement. I wish you the best of luck and looks like you're doing great so far. Allison's the cutest baby!!! :-)

Lookin' forward to hearing more about life-with-baby.

Only 27 (depending on how you count) days until baby's first Christmas!!!!! :-D

Great pics, Kelly! :-)

I'm sure Toby will get used to everything once things have finally (fully) calmed down. Really! Quirky and lovable pets like Toby are good like that. They adapt to change better than most breeds and he'll become truly ecstatic once she's older and able to play with him. Then, you'll have two actively mobile munchkins to chase after. And happily enough laughs or funfilled memories to capture on camera, as well as heartfelt ones that will last a lifetime. <3

Very nice pics! I love the one of Toby with the Boppy pillow. It's gonna be even better when she's older and moving around, they those two are gonna be a lot of fun together. LOL...
What a cool heirloom to have, that bassinet. Oh, and I'm so glad to have finally seen Glrr!! You might have posted pics before, but I just don't remember. It was great either way!

Oh, and you got another "comment" from those losers who keep leaving rude stuff. It's about 12 comments down and from "anonymous." Surprise, surprise, they didn't have the balls to put a name with their stupidity.

How many times can one say "cutie patootie" without it getting old?

In the face of Allison, I think it'll be a LOOOOOOONG time. :-)

The pictures are amazing. There are times in my life I question if I will ever be ready to be a mom when the time comes. This post brought tears to my eyes and a warmth to my heart that is a kind reminder that I will be ready the moment our eyes meet for the first time.
Thank you for sharing. ~Kirs

My hubby who is also a fan of you decided to caption the under the warmer pic which was one of the first ones Glrr posted

"Come on mom & dad....does my first picture have to be a nudie pic? What do you think this is...Playpen Magazine?"

Not Quite a Jerryism, but hubby tried!

That made me laugh a little... You look wonderful after pushing out a human being the size of a watermelon!

Aww, she's so beautiful!!!

And those boppy pillows are the best, I'm convinced. Not that I've ever had to use one, but my SIL used one to nurse and she wouldn't do it without it now. Great for handling newborns. Course my niece had to be fed in the "football position" no matter what. Fussy girl.

petra said...

Yes, she's definitely a keeper! :)

I really like the picture of your hands. Oh, and the expressions on the faces of excited grandparents were just priceles. LOL!

Cool photo album! But then the subject is perfect!

Oh she is just so beautiful! And so are you. She really does look a lot like Jerry. you know, I read that most babies, especially first babies, do at least for the first year. Somethign about facilitating bonding and preventing bio fathers from running out. I know you don't have to worry about that and neither did I but thought it was funny.

I have no internet at home and haven't been able to catch up. This morning I did, from a lab on campus and I must say, Alli is looking more and more goregous everyday. And it sounds to me like you are getting the hang of things. Congrats.
PS- As I was looking at pictures, half the girls in the lab with me were looking too, oohing and awwinng, so I think that makes it official... your daughter is world's prettiest baby... at least here! Take care!
