'Roid rage

No, not steroids.

Hemorrhoids.

And they hurt so bad I want to die.

Try a warm bath with epsom salts, and then use all of the over-the-counter sprays and creams. Take fiber pills to avoid any strenuous "pushing."

When I had my son, half the nurses in the hospital kept coming into my room looking at my bum because they said they had heard I had the biggest hemmorids in town. No joke!!

yes yes yes... Those are the worst. Try Preparation H. I work at a pharmacy. Trust me, it works. Be really careful about no straining to hard. That will just make it worse! Hope things get better for you!

Are you constipated too? If so, request a stool softener from your doc. May help both problems.

Analpram. Call your doctor for a prescription. Also Colace (generic is much cheaper.) It's OTC and okay for nursing mothers.

It seems I picked an odd day to stop by and comment, since I haven't been around xanga in ages. Anyhow, I hope Santa brings some Preparation H, and you 3 have a Merry Christmas!

That is seriously a bummer to hear because I am only at 26 weeks and have already started to suffer from them...I assumed they stopped when the baby came out! UGH!

I can't even begin to tell you how much sympathy I have for you... Experienced terrible ones after the birth of my second son. The only thing that helped was Rx suppositories. Call your doctor; they will likely phone in the Rx for you without even having to see you. They work like a charm...

You poor kid! Use the sitz bath - it really helps!

So sorry! This is the one tiny good thing about having a 29 week preemie. So no advice here.

I'm really afraid of that... it's one of the main things that scares me about the idea of being pregnant some day...

Okay, you may think I'm pulling your leg, and that is why I will post with my user name instead of anonymously. It's going to sound bizzare, but I've been told it's a miracle-worker.

My father spent two years almost dying in the hospital (long story that you may have read on my old blog). He was down to 90 lbs, extremely malnourished, and therefore extremely constipated resulting in very painful hemmroids.

One Dr came into the hospital room to check on him, noted the problem, and suggested he apply cold sour cream to the area while in bed. He said it will be unpleasant but he promised it works.

My dad was desperate and tried it. To this day, whenever he or my mom have that problem, they use the cold sour cream and they swear it's gone over night.

Like I said, it sounds gross and you may think I'm playing a cruel joke on you, but they swear on their life that it works.

As my dad says, "When it's that bad, you're willing to try anything."

Ouch. I'm sorry. But I am so glad someone says something about it.
I know it happens but out of the dozens of women I talk to that have had babies you are the FIRST to admit it.

Right now you're my hero. I just want to know how terrible it all is so I know what I have ahead of me.

And how that little face makes it all worth it.

they go away.... just get a stool softner and by marchish (if you do a high fiber diet etc) then you won't have to worry about "lifelong" roids...

Good luck

Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't know you could get that after pregnancy. But I have heard of it during. I hope it goes away REALLY soon.

Take, care.

So you have this 21 year old even more terrified and loathing of the idea of being pregnant and having a child...

Additionally, I found this ironic, even though it was Jerry's spoken piece that applies more so:

"I am NOT taking her out of there. That was a pain in the ass."

"Yeah, well, I'm gonna have a different kind of pain in my ass in a second."

:)

Hope you feel better... Maybe some bacon and chives would go well with that sour cream. Ok, that was sick. .. Apologies :) Hope that works if you're willing to try it..... which I am guessing you are, because you took that Neti Pot suggestion straight to the head :)

ack.. no one has advised to drink more water!! The creams will help but it's a sign of dehydration.

Um, a "no touchy" subject. Even for humour like this! Hope the suggested solutions above have brought relief.
