Nevermind that she was wearing head-to-toe pink

Conversation with a resident at the retirement community while I was voting in the Pennsylvania primaries with Allison today:

"Oh! He's adorable! He's gonna be a heartbreaker."

"Thank you."

"Aren't you a handsome devil! What's his name?"

"Allison."

...

"She's precious!"

Haven't you heard? Pink is the new black. All the fashion forward baby boys are doing it.

After making the same mistake several times with different babies, my stock compliment is now "What a beautiful baby!" That's even if the child in question is clad head-to-toe in pink or has a shirt that prominently features trucks.

Glad you had a good trip. I love moments like these when people don't seem to note the obvious. Hope election night is at least exciting. :)

And even when they're clad in a pink outfit with hearts over it, and totally look girly.. it's still a HE to them... hhehehe

When I was about five, I sported this ultra geeky Lloyd Christmas bowl haircut (courtesy of dad). But trust me, that isn't the worst thing that happened to me.
One day while mom was at work, dad brought us kids to the aquarium dressed in semi-identical clothing; collared striped tees, smart shorts, Mickey Mouse suspenders, knee-high socks and Nike light-up shoes. Pretty decent I guess, but he totally forgot the fact that I'M A GIRL!!! The freaking lady at the aquarium commented on my "handsomeness" for about a full minute before he finally told her I wasn't a little dude.

Katelyn will be in her pink and brown stroller, have her legs covered with a pink blanket, wearing a pink and white outfit and without fail, some old lady will say, "oh, aren't you cute!!" To which Brian and I will say, "thank you". She soon follows that with, "is it a boy or a girl??"
Brian said he's going to start saying, "it's a boy, but we wanted a girl so badly, we're trying to change his gender."

I was bald until I was about 2 and a half so my mom always joked that everyone thought I was a boy. She would just nod and smile :o)

That's hilarious! I think I heard that happening to someone else as well. Crazy!
