A few updates

Life has been absolute insanity the past few days. Here are some quick updates:

  • Jerry and I went to an open casting call to be extras in a Denzel Washington movie filming next month one street over from our house. As Jer puts it, "It would be the one Denzel movie we go to see on opening night and buy on Blu-ray."
  • We no longer have a toddler. We have a dictator. She has taken to chanting her demands in the form of "I WANTA ______" Fill in the blank. Baby. Show. Milk. Nana. Cheese. Kim Jong Il sould take notes.
  • Jer sent me this text last night from a restaurant in Pittsburgh, where he went to see Gwar and Lamb of God in concert: "I just ordered hard-boiled eggs wrapped in sausage, breaded, deep fried and served with hot sauce."
  • After asking Allison to chant "Go Penn State!" Jerry thought he would joke about my alma matter's lack of football prowess by encouraging her to say "Go Cortland!" Allison showed him by screaming "GO CUNT!" Yeah, we didn't ask her to repeat it.

  • I'm looking for some large natural wood bowls for newborn photos that don't cost a fortune. Anyone have any suggestions?

Target has some beautiful wood bowls that won't completely break the bank!!! I once saw a photo of one with an elephant ear (the plant) in it and a baby on top. ADORABLE!

wow, you have been busy! Why would Jerry plan a trip to Pittsburgh with te G20 in town? I thought everyone was trying to get away!

Our daughter shouts "Go Steelers!" anytime she sees football on TV. makes me so proud :)

Have a nice weekend!

Thanks guys. The Target bowls are EXACTLY what I want, only bigger. Big enough to put a baby in.

Those eggs sound delish!!

As someone already mentioned, you might want to try Marshalls or TJ Max. Also check out your local craft stores. We have Michaels around here and sometimes I'll catch things like that on super clearance.

Also, have you considered browsing Etsy or creating an Alchemy request on there? You get to name your price and people come to YOU with the products. That's been a HUGE help for me before.

Hope you get the "extra work"! Would be great fun, especially if filmed in the neighborhood.

Speaking of extras, was that Jerry shouting though a bullhorr at Brian Willians when he was doing the news live from G20 Pittsburg? LOL!

Some very natural looking ones at http://www.hollandbowlmill.com/. You can find ones that look REALLY natural and have knots and interesting character and you can find ones that are absolutely perfect. Of course the good ones cost more the knotted natural looking ones cost less, but you know. It's an option and all. :) Glad to know you're doing well. Will try to follow you're photography and such on the Twitters.

I'm not sure how well it fits the "not spending a fortune" criteria but etsy.com has incredible items of the natural wood nature.

Also, some antique shops might be a great place to look!

I thought this one (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=30461646&ref=sr_gallery_14&&ga_search_query=natural+wood+bowls&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=6&order=price_asc&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title) had incredible character and a "cocoon-like" look to it, but I don't know if it's large enough.

Oh, and also these (as you probably already know) are becoming an incredibly popular item for photoshoots and etsy has a TON of them (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=31347076&ref=sr_gallery_7&&ga_search_query=prop+bowl&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=3&order=price_asc&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title)

I was at Kohls last week and saw some gorgeous large wooden bowls on sale for like $35. You could also check Pier 1 Imports.
